Police said that neither Christopher M. Kenny, 45, of Manchester, nor Nathaniel E. Rogers, 40, of Lakehurst, wore safety gear when the 2014 Toyota Sienna driven by Douglas J. Moore, 61, of Manchester, clipped the bike's rear tire on Commonwealth Boulevard, near Bismark Street, at about 8:50 PM.

Investigating officers determined that the crash occurred in the center of the eastbound lane of Commonwealth. Both men on the bike were catapulted off when the minivan hit the tire. Police did not indicate the vehicle's speed, nor elaborate on lighting and visibility.

Police said that Kenny sustained head and leg lacerations, and Rodgers complained of a headache, dizziness, right-arm pain, and discomfort. Both were evaluated and treated at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Moore was uninjured, police said.

Manchester PD Corporal Douglas Higgins and Patrolman Vincent DeRome led the ensuing investigation. Emergency medical technicians of Manchester's First Aid Squad and Quality Medical Transport assisted police at the scene.
