According to the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato, Ship Bottom police were notified of the incident at about 7:54 AM. Spokesman Al Della Fave says that the driver does not face charges.

Megan Fabieniak, 34, of Toronto, was lying on the sand, reading. Brian Archer, 42, of Browns Mills, was conducting morning beachfront trash collection in a Ford F-series truck.

Preliminary findings by investigators indicate that Fabieniak was hit by a front wheel, and that she was still underneath the truck when Archer stopped.

According to Della Fave, there was no fog on the beach at that hour, as there was in some sections of Ocean County early this morning. Witnesses described some sun glare from the water's surface. Fabrieniak's husband had gone to the edge of the surf.

Fabieniak was taken to Atlanticare Medical Center in Atlantic City, where authorities said she was listed in stable condition with minor injuries.

Archer was driven to Southern Ocean County Medical Center in Manahawkin, where he agreed to provide blood samples for analysis and to provide a recorded statement.
