Assembly Looks At How Sandy Hit Schools
School calendars around New Jersey are being rearranged and some students are finding themselves in new places in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

The state Assembly's education committee is holding a hearing on those issues Thursday. The committee also plans to examine how schools are used as emergency shelters.
Most New Jersey schools were closed for at least three days after the storm hit, but some stayed shuttered for weeks. As a result, school districts are canceling spring break or extending classes into the summer to make up for the lost time.
At least one school on the shore was damaged so badly that classes were moved to a church.
