Monmouth County investigators have placed an Asbury Park man under arrest for allegedly shooting and killing a Neptune Township resident on Old Corlies Avenue on November 10, according to Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

Mark Morrissey, 48, faces several charges for the fatal shooting of Randolph Goodman, 43, who suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen late that Saturday night.

Neptune Township Police responded to a call around 9:21 p.m. for shots outside of 1030 Old Corlies Avenue.

Police then found Goodman who was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A joint investigation was immediately launched by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Neptune Township Police Department.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Morrissey was a person of interest in the case.

Efforts to locate him by investigators included a collaborative effort of a number of federal, state and local law enforcement authorities.

Morrissey is charged with first degree Murder, first degree Felony Murder, first degree Robbery, second degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and second degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
