After arriving at the home fire crews said they could see smoke coming from the basement doors and windows "on the D-side of the dwelling" as well as a box alarm that was "struck."

Engine Co. 77 later arrived and helped put the fire out with a hose that stretched 1.75'' to the basement.

Fire Fighters from the City of Long Branch were on hand to help put out the fire around 1:30 pm Monday afternoon as Asbury Park Tower 89 was on a detail, officials said on Facebook.

The Asbury Park Fire Department also received two added engine companies from Deal and Neptune, officials say.
