The search is on for an armed bank robbery suspect who held up a PNC bank branch on Wrangle Brook Drive late this morning. Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco said the clean shaven white male suspect, wearing long black coat, entered the bank at around 10:05 am and displayed a black semiautomatic handgun while demanding money.

Stocco said after taking the proceeds, he fled out of the bank's main doors and entered a small black sports utility vehicle with light window tint and fled east on Route 37. The vehicle had out of state license plates.

The suspect is describe as 5"7 or 5"8, black hair, wearing a button down blue shirt under his coat. He was also wearing a large ring on his left hand.

Police are asking media and law enforcement in New York and Pennsylvania to be extra vigilant because they believe he could be a resident of either state and he made no attempt to conceal his identity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Thomas Grosse at 732-349-0150 extension 1263.
