Being the dog lover that I am I never thought about this - dogs and cats sometimes need blood transfusions and much like humans they have different types.

So, what happens if god forbid your fur baby needed one? The American Red Cross actually holds blood drives for people and their pets if you'd like more information on this you can either connect to The American Red Cross or ask your vet. I know I'll be doing this.
