New Jersey State Police say two children abducted from central Pennsylvania that were the subject of an Amber Alert have been recovered safe.

According to a tweet, the children are safe and two suspects are in custody in Pennsylvania. My Fox Philly tweeted a series of pictures taken from their helicopter showing the suspects being stopped on the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway in Philadelphia at the exit for the Roosevelt Boulevard (Route 1) and taken into custody.

The car containing the suspects and abducted children was thought to be in New Jersey and New Jersey State Police issued an Amber Alert just before 8 a.m. 6 ABC reports that Gloucester Township Police tweeted overnight that the car they were traveling in had been spotted on Route 55 near Route 47 in Vineland.

Pennsylvania State Police said 3-year-old Erielys Ahorrio and 4-year-old John Ahorrio were taken at gunpoint from a Lancaster home by their father, Eddie Ahorrio, Jr. and grandfather, Eddie Ahorrio, Sr. at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday following an alteration according to NBC Philadelphia.

 

WGAL TV reports the children and their mother moved in with her boyfriend. The father and grandfather went to the home with a gun and a wrench and took the children by force.
