Alleged paintball popping leads to assault, weapons charges in Ocean Township
Allegations of using several kids for paint-ball target practice means a battery of charges for two arrestees in Monmouth's Ocean Township.
Radames Santana-Figueroa, 24, and a 17-year-old companion, both of Ocean Township, were apprehended Sunday on Cindy Lane in connection with the incident reported by juveniles to 911, according to township police.
Officers responded at about 4:36 PM to Cindy Lane near the Twinbrook Village apartments. Three minors from the township told officers that paint balls began pelting them while they were in a patch of woods between the two spots.
Police said two were injured.
Santana-Figueroa and his companion were charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Santana-Figueroa was released to await a municipal court date. The teen was placed in the custody of the Youth Detention Center to await a hearing in family court, police said.
