A.C. Expressway Overturn Kills 2
An overturned vehicle on the westbound Atlantic City Expressway has left two people dead after six people riding in the cab and bed of a pickup truck were ejected.
NBC 10 reports all 6 people all from Philadelphia were ejected onto the roadway in the single-vehicle accident including several children.
A 35-year-old man riding in the cab died at the scene; Three other victims were taken by medical helicopter to hospitals in Camden and Atlantic City hospital,according to 6 ABC.
One of those victims. a 4-year-old child, died on Friday afternoon according to New Jersey State Police.
6 ABC reports 3 of the passengers were riding in the cab of the pickup and 3 were in the bed. The pickup, registered to a Philadelphia construction company, had been driving erratically shortly before the accident, hit a guardrail and flipped over.
New Jersey Fast Traffic says the vehicle overturned after 7 a.m. just past the Farley Service Area at milemarker 22.7 and shut down the Expressway for several hours for an investigation and cleanup.
