NEW YORK — A 5-year-old girl and her father were killed in a crash on the George Washington Bridge on Wednesday night.

Hector Pedercini, 50, of Howell, and his daughter Marianna Pedercini were killed when their GMC Acadia they were riding in rear-ended a truck stopped in a traffic lane on the inbound upper level about 9 p.m., Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo said Thursday.

Hector was driving the SUV.

Three other people were inside the SUV — a 40-year-old woman, a 64-year-old woman and a 1-year-old. They were all taken to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Hector and Marianne both died at the hospital.

Pentangelo did not disclose the identity of the driver, a 59-year-old man from Brooklyn. He was not injured and has not been charged. The investigation, however, continues.

All lanes were reopened around midnight but delays continued for much of the night.
