BRICK — An overnight fire left several residents without a home in a Jersey Shore apartment building.

The fire affected three apartments at the Brick Gardens apartment complex on Hooper Avenue, according to News 12 New Jersey, which reported the landlord made empty apartments temporarily available to those residents.

CBS New York reported that all 14 apartments in the building were evacuated, but there were no injuries.

Brick Mayor John Ducey praised the work of firefighters in a tweet. “Stopped that fire cold. Fine work,” Ducey wrote.
