1 dead, 1 critical in mid-morning Cinnaminson crash
MOUNT HOLLY - Questions swirl around a fatal Wednesday morning crash between a car and a big rig on Route 130 in Cinnaminson, which left the car driver in critical condition and killed a front-seat passenger.
According to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina's office, the driver was a juvenile, the car was speeding, and it had been reported stolen.
The crash occurred at about 10:30 AM on the southbound side, near Riverton Road, not long after police tried to pull the car to the roadside. Instead, authorities said, the car accelerated.
The passenger died instantly, and the young driver is in Cooper University Medical Center in Camden. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured, police said.
Identities are being withheld until the passenger's next of kin are informed. The car driver's identity remains concealed in light of juvenile status.
